On the occasion of the Vietnam Science and Technology Day and the International Museum Day, on May 18th, 2016, the President of Việt Nam paid a visit to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. This is a great honor for the museum circle in Việt Nam and a big encouragement to the leaders and staff of the VME. The visit expressed the concern of the Party and the State for those working in the field of science and museology.
After visiting the exhibitions, President Trần Đại Quang wrote in the yellow book: "I am delighted to visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - a fascinating museum that has attracted a wide public inside and outside the country and has been selected as one of the most attractive places in Asia by many international tourism organizations. As a national museum that significantly reflects many aspects of ethnic peoples in the country and in the world, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology should continue to preserve and promote the cultural values of the peoples together with the intensification of the presentation about ethnic groups around the world for further collaboration and exchanges with international friends. The Museum should also focus on doing research and applying advanced scientific technology as well as modern anthropology and museology to develop towards modernisation and professionalism."
