The Vietnam National Museum of Nature, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Natural History Museum of University of Florence (Italy) and the Italian Embassy in Vietnam jointly organized an opening ceremony of the photo exhibition "Discovering the Insect Biodiversity of Vietnam" on the occasion of 10 years of scientific collaboration between Vietnam and Italy at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on May 18.
The exhibition aims to celebrate the International Museum Day and the Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18) and the World Biodiversity Day (May 22). The exhibition will last for a month, from May 18 to June 18, 2019.
Presented at the opening ceremony were H.E. Dr. Antonio Alessandro, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam; Associate Professor Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology; Associate Professor Dr. Tran Tuan Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; representatives Embassies, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, universities, museums, and Vietnamese and foreign scientists.
The photo exhibition "Discovering Insect Biodiversify of Vietnam" introduces 38 photos of Italian photographer Saulo Bambi at the University of Florence's Museum of Natural History and Vietnamese entomologist, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Lien. The exhibition offers an interesting and new look at the abundance, evolution and adaptation of insects with the surrounding environment, through vivid images.
The exhibition aims to improve the understanding of the world of insects and their habitats, in hopes of encouraging much-needed protection of insect diversity in particular, animals and plants in general, to preserve and protect the living environment for the present and future generations.
